Empire Invades San Francisco
I found this over on Gizmodo and it’s just so frickin’ cool:
I just finished a lengthy email rant/exchange with my friend Bryan about the future of humanity and the advent of ubiquitous computing merged with virtual worlds and the price of a really good cup of coffee. We sometimes got off topic, as you can imagine when the discussion turned to semiotic linkages between Ray Kurzweil’s health regime and Franz Kafka’s recenty discovered porn collection and — where was I? Oh yes!
One of the things we babbled about was how neat it is that these rapidly evolving tools are in the hands of the many and not the few and how transformative it’s going to become for us as a society, as a species and as individuals. That, of course, is if the old dinosaur greedy fucktards don’t keep fucking things up just for the sake of a quick buck.
And sticking a Death Star over San Francisco is just frickin’ cool.
Cheers.
