The link to ruinediphone.com, aka fuckyourogers.com,
has been attracting a lot of attention with close to 30,000 angry citizens signing the online petition expressing their outrage over the usurious Rogers/Fido voice and data plans for the iPhone in Canada.

While it is doubtful the delivery of the petition on July 11 will actually result in Ted Rogers prying his head out of his ass it will certainly leave a bad smell over the entire cellular industry in Canada where the established monopolies routinely fuck their customers up the arse for fun and profit.

At the very least it will make the CRTC take notice and flex some under-used muscle on behalf of the citizens they purportedly represent.

As noted in the comments of my previous post on this, and as reported by Michael Geist, it appears that Rogers is blocking access to the site - so if you have a Rogers internet account and want to register your displeasure with their thieving ways you will need to go over to your smarter friend’s house who has some other ISP and use their computer to stick your virtual finger in the virtual eye of Rogers and company. And while you’re there be sure to visit Geist’s site and leave your own comment, documenting your inability to use Rogers to reach a site that contradicts their own self-serving propaganda.

So much for Net Neutrality.

Hmmm - yet another issue for the CRTC to take hold of.
