If you’ve never heard of the TED Talks, held every year in Monterey, you should treat yourself to a visit to their site. There is a wealth of archived videos of these exceptional talks given by extraordinary minds. My iPod is crammed with these things.

The latest post is of Hans Rosling, and his Trendalyzer software. He spoke last year and demonstrated an earlier version of the software. This updated version now operates off the web and has just recently been purchased by Google. They’re going to own everything, aren’t they? It’s a visual treat to watch this brilliant and hilarious man as he makes boring statistics dance and paint themselves across the screen in a visual display of data that makes for a very vivid understanding of where this world has come from and where we may be going.
